The Pre-Ballet division carefully nurtures and encourages each child with the opportunity to experience a wide variety and range of movements structured to develop rhythm, balance, and coordination while using their bodies expressively. LEVEL: I, II, III The same principles as in the Pre-Ballet division are applied to the Level divisions, however, a more advanced approach is presented. The basic principles of movement and muscular technique are now introduced. A strong emphasis is placed on correct alignment, thus preventing injuries. LEVEL: IV, V In the Level IV & V divisions, class training becomes more serious and students attend multiple classes per week. The elements of Russian (Vaganova), Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), and Italian (Cechetti) training are now introduced. These levels are designed to increase the student's technical proficiency while developing artistic awareness. Pointe instruction will begin in Level V, provided the student has the muscularity and technical strength. LEVEL: VI Dancers who have successfully completed their training in the previous division levels through technical ability and dedication, qualify for Level VI classes. JAZZ: Instruction in the elements of classical, lyrical, theatre, and funky styles. Attention is focused on technique, alignment, style, and terminology in all levels. ADULTS: Classes are available for adults at all levels of advancement in both ballet and jazz. |
